The interface is friendly for business-users, which is useful for organizations that want to better enable their users and teams to use data and analytics to further their work. All of the expected functionality exists and is packaged and delivered well (relative to competitor products). The flexibility that the system provides really allows users to design their structures in a way that aligns with their unique processes.
Easy access to the tool. Complete product in its license (until now), without complex options. Favorable TCO.
DataGalaxy regularly shares updates on its roadmap, which allows us to anticipate upcoming features and plan our usage accordingly. The platform demonstrates a strong focus on user experience, making it intuitive and accessible for our business users. The well-documented API enables us to implement custom integrations and automate processes as needed.
The high level of flexibility and customizability can be a double-edged sword if you are not 100% certain of how you want the system to reflect your data processes and structures. You may need to stay on top of new feature releases to make sure that you gain access to them. Communication with our account manager went quiet for a while but luckily, senior members jumped in to fill any gaps with implementation support.
Fuzzy roadmap. Non existent audit and reporting. Nice Lego tool but in fact too permissive.
For certain on-premise metadata sources we have needed to implement minor customizations to the connector and plugins in order to fully meet our specific requirements.

In my role managing our DataGalaxy SaaS platform, the solution has proven easy to administer. The platform offers sufficient configuration options to adapt the UI to our technical landscape and internal standards. The available on-premise connector and set of plugins simplify metadata ingestion, and for technologies not natively supported by the vendor, we successfully implemented custom integrations using the DataGalaxy API. From a business perspective, the platform is very accessible to non-technical users, allowing them to manage data assets with minimal support from our centralized Data Governance team.
