Easy to install, web based to access and dashboards very easy to use and understand
It offers a very nice visual reference when dealing with hardware failures, making it easy to find the offending part. The ability to configure alerts is good for small departments that do not have staff dedicated to monitoring server hardware. OpenManage can be accessed via browser or CLI.
I like the insights we've gained and the ease of use dashboard this provides. This coupled with the proactive monitoring, makes our server management less of an overhead
Can require a log out and back in should pages stop loading and updates not out as often
The vast amount of information provided under multiple layers can make it difficult to find what you want. In my experience, OpenManage seems to prefer Internet Explorer over other browsers - I would prefer using a different browser. While alerting can be configured it often does not function as anticipated; for example, it alerts after a drive has failed but not when issues were first detected and logged.
I would say that at the rare time there are issues, support is tricky to navigate but these are typically not straightforward issues rasied.
