My experiecne with Lacework, now called FortiCNAPP, has been positive. The integration with aws is pretty straightforward, and it provides a lot of useful information, though some overlaps with cloudtrail, guardduty, security hub, config. The main advantage is having evertthin centralized, plus the agen compatibility for deeper security issue

Unified Security and Extended Visibility with FortiCNAPP and Azure

    5.0
    Oct 27, 2025
The deployment of FortiCNAPP within the Fortinet ecosystem (Fortigate and FortiWeb) represented a significant advancement in the cloud security strategy. Native integration with Microsoft Azure expanded resource visibility, brought continuous compliance automation, and strengthened control over identities, workloads, and applications. The most noticeable benefit was the unification of the security layer with real-time intelligent correlation, reducing the attack surface and enabling more agile incident responses. The application of CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management) and CWPP (Cloud Workload Protection Platform) policies significantly increased security maturity, reducing the risk of misconfiguration, vulnerabilities, and non-compliant access. Furthermore, integration with FortiAnalyzer enabled a centralized analytical view, enhancing auditing, detection, and preventive threat mitigation capabilities, with tangible efficiency and governance metrics.

Like

what I like most about the product is the traceability it provides when detecting an incident or potential security issue. from the moment a packet enter the system all the way to its endpoint. The flow diagramas and visual insight make it easy to understand and investigate issues quickly Another great thing is the support: at the beginning, the agent was consuming a lot of resources, which significantly increased cost. After discussing it with support, they quicly released a new lite version that completely solved the problem

Dislike

UI It is a bit complex, Cost too expensive for our company, Integrations only for Slack, missing of integration with Microsoft Teams.

Dislike

No primary key in data share tables

Dislike

what I dislike most is the lack of proper user segregation between organization accounts and tenants. Also, detection and alerting take quite a while, sometimes up to three hours to flag anomalies or potential incidents. additionally , the alert rules offer limited customization and react to slowly once.
