Performance of Google Cloud CDN Across Market Features
Google Cloud CDN Likes & Dislikes
Leveraging Google's own fiber-optic network ensures consistently low latency and high hit ratios across all regions. It works flawlessly with cloud load balancing and cloud storage, allowing us to enable cloud CDN with a single checkbox. The ease of of pairing the CDN with Google Cloud Armor for WAF and DDoS protection provides peace of mind without needing to reroute traffic to a separate security provider.
1. Blazing fast delivery - Latency drops a ton compared to our old setup 2. Super easy integration 3. Strong cache control and invalidation tools
Integration is GREAT when using the Google platform, it's very easy to use out of the box, no complex setup required. The ability to integrate with our backend databases/platforms and the ease of access to the API is great,as we a re using other Google tools and platforms, this simplifies all of oru processes.
Pricing models can be difficult to forecast accurately, which can lead to unexpected billing fluctuations during traffic spikes. While deployment is easy, the options for more complex cache key manipulation and header modification at the edge are more limited compared to some specialized competitors. The Dashboard for real-time traffic monitoring and cache-hit ratios is somewhat basic and could be more visually intuitive for quick troubleshooting.
1. The UI feels clunky and outdated - too many click to do basic tasks. 2. Customer support takes a while to respond and when they do, it's generic copy-paste answers. 3. Pricing jumps way up after the first year with barely any warning.
At times the prices we are charged change and then we have to re-charge internally to the business units, creating a complex challenge to achieve the correct ratio of charges. So much so that we had to use other tool to clarify and work out where the charges need to go. Billing is the main issue, but we have now adapted the recharge system to cater for the fluctuations in charges to be catered for on a monthly basis, this smooths out the highs and lows of price changes.

High-Speed Content Delivery for GCP Users with Slight Trade-off in Flexibility.
Our experience with Google Cloud CDN has been very positive, particularly regarding its performance and global reach. It integrates seamlessly with our existing GCP infrastructure, making the setup process much faster than third party alternatives. We have seen a significant reduction in latency for our global users. The only reason it is not 5 Star is that the pricing model can be a bit complex o forecast. Some advanced cache key customizations have a steeper learning curve than expected. - Manager Of It Services<50M USDReal EstateReview Source
Ease of Integration Praised But Complicated Pricing Requires Ongoing Adjustments
It's a very fast CDN with great access across all our applications with no performance issues, in particular where our partners operate we have seen no performance issues, integration is really good with other Google services. - SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Efficient Content Delivery and Scaling Amidst Limited Advanced Caching Options
My overall experience with CDN has been quite positive. It integrates well with the rest of the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, which makes setup and management easier if you're already a Google Cloud service user. Once configured, it does a good job of caching static content and reducing latency for users across different regions. - Engineer1B-10B USDRetailReview Source
Google Cloud CDN Offers Fast Integration But Limited Caching Visibility Insights
Google Cloud CDN has been smooth and reliable for day-to-day use. Setup is quick, it integrates easily with the rest of the Google Cloud, and performance improvements are immediate. It's low maintenance, predictable and does exactly what you need without adding complexity. The monitoring could be a bit more detailed but overall it's a solid, fast and hassle free CDN option. - It Operations Officer<50M USDReal EstateReview Source
Seamless Integration and Fast Speeds Offset by UI and Support Limitations
I've been using Google Cloud CDN for about a year on a mid-size web app and it's been pretty reliable overall. The speeds are excellent and integration with other GCP stuff is seamless, but the pricing can sneak up on you if you're not watching cache hit ratios closely, and setting up custom domain took longer than I expected. Still, it does the job well most days.
