Simplicity of the tool is important here. It will take you about 40 minutes to setup the entire tool for your team.
It provides clear visibility without being overly complicated to use. The reporting features make payroll and workforce oversight so much more efficient.
It makes its job, but as I said, it can be negatively seen by the workers.
I would say that the way they track productivity of tracked hours is questionable. I assume it is related to clicks and mouse movements, which isn't relevant for many roles in the software development niche.
SOme of the monitoring features can feel a bit intrusive if not communicated to employees ahead of time. Only a few interface areas could be more intuitive but overall good product
The type or size of company must be the one Hubstaff is targetting, if not, you'll have problems (for being too small or too big, both sides).
