The thing which i love about Apptio is its flexibility and ease of communication which helps our teams to have a transparent overview over the dashboards which automatically leads to better communication and as well as better results in total, we have saved atleast 30-40 % on time, 40-50% on report generation, and 20-30% on communication and tracking of data. This is how it has helped a to transform our organisation in a better way.

i love Planning, being able to create a rich data source that is trusted and used across tech, finance, commerical and risk is fantastic.
i feel that the learning curve can be something, which they should improve, apart from that, it does not have historical balance sheets as well. so they should consider working on both the aspects.
It feels very heavy and complex therefore, it scares new users away.
There are a few small functional improvements that would make UX better such as a totals filter in Planning. The ability to sort/filter totals would be really helpful. Being able to select 0 value full year to delete rows or filter to a specific total or over a certain amount would negate the need to export to excel to do this. Adding an undo feature in Planning would also be amazing!
