Linkerd service mesh is one of the best mesh if you have to setup a mesh with kubernetes. It's setup is straight forward as we define its configurations as part of kubernetes manifests.

Reviewer Insights for: Linkerd
Performance of Linkerd Across Market Features

Linkerd Likes & Dislikes

Like

It's feature of runtime traffic routing is very useful. Also, it is essentially zero-config for dynamic services and namespaces. Also, its feature of adaptive load-balancing and tech that's built for scale are very useful. It is faster than Istio which is similar to Linkerd

Like

Manages load balancing successfully, relatively simple and adequate rate limiting, good caching of previous requests

Like

Linkerd's rust based data plane proxy servers are very small and lightning fast. No complicated API's or configuration. Also we can monitor metrics such as request rate , success rate and latency for every rate with keen observation.

Dislike

We constantly need to perform rolling restart to bring back stability as the pod seem to get into a split brain state very frequently. Websockets are not supported by Linkerd.

Dislike

Stability issues prompting unexpected restarts, but fortunately just an occasional issue

Dislike

I don't think there's anything to mention for dislikes.
