ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus Likes & Dislikes
What I like most about the product is its automation and centralized visibility. It simplifies patch management by allowing administrators to manage operating system and third-party application updates from a single console. The ability to test, schedule, approve and deploy patches automatically significantly reduces manual effort and minimizes risk
It's a simple GUI, easy to use and understandable.
It's easy to set up and has automation to deploy updates in a timely fashion. The ability to set criteria for what and when to update makes it a set and forget approach. Emails out reporting on tasks that need attention. Agents are cross-platform for both Windows and Linux. Both Debian and RHEL based distros. Clients supported Proxies which was a must for our environment
The main drawback is the initial setup and learning curve, particularly configuring deployment policies, reboot behavior, and reporting. However, once configured, the product is stable and effective.
can't do a deep scan, nowadays we are unable to upload a few patches manually into it also can't run the script independently.
The screens are sometimes a little busy and not easy to follow as a new user. Currently there is no support for third-party/ self hosted repos for our Linux machines. It has been put on there road map.
