Utilizing Azure Cognitive Services we were able to index long form video content at scale and found the image recognition and tagging capabilities superb for generating large amounts of accurate time-based metadata.

Breadth of features and simplicity of implementation.

Logo recognition seems to lag behind Azure's competitors and is a highly requested feature from our users. It would have been nice to have more capabilities related to audio, such as being able to index a specific audio track. Azure Video Indexer generates quite a lot of images and better controls over those images could offer a lot of value for other applications of the images without having to generate more.

In support of creating a dataset to support model training, inability to select a subset of images from a master repository of images (via something like a manifest file or image list) ... need to actually make copies of the image files of interest and move them into the dataset. this is time consuming and requires the retention of duplicate copies of the same file.

Feature-parity in a secure cloud environment is lagging.

Easy Integration of Cognitive Services Document Translation into Highly Secure Platform

Our company was evaluating vendors for us to solve a growing pain point for our customers who need to understand context of data and documents in their non-native language. After talking with a few vendors, Microsoft easily won our business, and even allowed us to be part of their Alpha and Beta programs for this new product, the Document Translation API. Our feedback for Microsoft in these programs was implemented quickly in time for their General Release, this was despite our industry having slightly unique requirements. In turn, our customers are blown away by the speed, quality, and format of the translated documents returned.
