It is so easy to navigate around the platform and complete essential tasks - everyone I have introduced MineOS too has also found it incredibly easy to use which says it all.
If I had to highlight what I liked most about Mineos Data Mapping, it would certainly be the visual clarity it offers to understand the connections between the different data sets. We used to use spreadsheets and static diagrams that were difficult to keep up to date and quickly interpret. With Mineos, seeing graphically how data moves from one system to another, the transformations it undergoes and where it comes from really greatly simplified my work.
MineOS has contributed to our website's CCPA compliance. Their automated tool that discovers all of the platforms collecting data is awesome; simple to use, and very well documented.
We have often experienced bugs in the platform and although the team has always been on hand to fix and find a resolution - this has at times slowed down our own operations. I also think there is an opportunity for even more customisation and automation in areas like the data inventory, it could be designed to be a bit more user friendly and there needs to be ways to keep this up to date in a less manual way. We should also be able to custom edit a lot more in areas like the risk register etc to really make the MineOS platform completely work for your individual company. This would unlock so much capability for us.
If I had to point out what convinced me least about Mineos Data Mapping, I would say that it was the management of very large and complex data models. In some of our projects with lots of tables and interconnected fields, visualization could become a little saturated and difficult to navigate. Although the tool offered options for zoom and out, I sometimes felt that more robust filtering or segmentation tools were missing to be able to focus on specific subsets of data without losing the overall context. I also noticed that integration with other tools that we already used in our workflow was limited. For example, we would have found it very useful to be able to import or export metadata directly from our data catalogue or our lineage tool.
I don't really have any negatives to say about their service. I think the cost for this service is fair, the product is top notch and easy to use. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and professional.
