Decoding the Efficiency of Mineos Data Mapping Tool

    4.0
    Apr 25, 2025
After trying Mineos Data Mapping on a couple of projects, I have a pretty positive opinion overall. I found the tool quite useful for visualizing and understanding the flow of data between different systems. The interface is intuitive and I did not need extensive training to start creating my first data maps, which is very appreciated when you have little time.

A Mostly Joyful Experience of Mine

    4.0
    Feb 24, 2025
Mine has helped us determine order in the chaos and advance our data management efforts, with our particular focus being a dedicated fulfillment of privacy protection obligations. Implementing Mine proved a relatively simple task (that could have been simpler, but more on that later) and achieved its primary purpose, not without some snags, but the results outweigh the effort.

Clear EULA, responsive customer service, responsive to user requests, and a clear and accessible control panel.

Like

It is so easy to navigate around the platform and complete essential tasks - everyone I have introduced MineOS too has also found it incredibly easy to use which says it all.

Like

If I had to highlight what I liked most about Mineos Data Mapping, it would certainly be the visual clarity it offers to understand the connections between the different data sets. We used to use spreadsheets and static diagrams that were difficult to keep up to date and quickly interpret. With Mineos, seeing graphically how data moves from one system to another, the transformations it undergoes and where it comes from really greatly simplified my work.

Dislike

The weak points are the reports, which can definitely be improved and improved flexibility in managing new users and roles should be integrated, the initial learning curve could be improved with clearer and more granular permissions.

Dislike

We have often experienced bugs in the platform and although the team has always been on hand to fix and find a resolution - this has at times slowed down our own operations. I also think there is an opportunity for even more customisation and automation in areas like the data inventory, it could be designed to be a bit more user friendly and there needs to be ways to keep this up to date in a less manual way. We should also be able to custom edit a lot more in areas like the risk register etc to really make the MineOS platform completely work for your individual company. This would unlock so much capability for us.

Dislike

If I had to point out what convinced me least about Mineos Data Mapping, I would say that it was the management of very large and complex data models. In some of our projects with lots of tables and interconnected fields, visualization could become a little saturated and difficult to navigate. Although the tool offered options for zoom and out, I sometimes felt that more robust filtering or segmentation tools were missing to be able to focus on specific subsets of data without losing the overall context. I also noticed that integration with other tools that we already used in our workflow was limited. For example, we would have found it very useful to be able to import or export metadata directly from our data catalogue or our lineage tool.
