- A private blockchain is ... kind of weird. If you already trust the infrastructure, just use a database. If you don't trust the infrastructure, then use a public blockchain; gas fees are your payment to others to keep the data alive. Paying more (proof of work or stake is always going to be more compute than a highly efficient database like Oracle), for a private chain seems like paying more for no real reason.
