Enthusiastic customer service with a dedicated success engineer and account manager, ensuring we maintain a healthy feedback loop. They also continue to address our needs as we identify gaps between their tool and our use cases. Orca itself is fairly easy to use right out-of-the-box, doesn't require continuous maintenance on our side, or even our interaction to ensure continuous operation.
I do appreciate some of the compliance framework mapping and the Jira integrations.
Easy API integration, it provides what you need at a glance and works well with discovery searches. Easy reporting for scheduled tasks. Able to quickly discover details about containers or instances that may not have certain configurations set on it.
Certain features lag behind the competition. Alternatives in this market may have a feature 3-6 months before Orca. Lack of customization for certain unique use cases. I believe Orca has the data available to it, but getting that information out of it can sometimes be impossible. Documentation and self-support can be a little lacking, requiring interaction with a support engineer to address appropriately.
As mentioned above: 1. We have to manipulate the numbers a lot to get the statistics that we value. 2. Dashboards aren't very helpful 3. Our team has brought up a lot of our concerns with Orca, and very little of them have been resolved.
Documentation is not accurate or updated at times compared to cloud services or UI. Changes that affect reporting are sometimes not communicated to us and may change how the results are presented. Customer success answering support times can be improved - I was waiting far too long to answer a simple question.

Orca Security Platform
Orca has provided us with great value and insight into our security risks that reside in various cloud services such as AWS and GCP. Orca is able to catch things such as vulnerabilities, user/account misconfigurations and potential sensitive data exposure, all without having to roll out an agent due to their SideScanning technology! We've found that Orca is one of the only tools that seems to "just work" without having to constantly make configuration changes or adjust policies. Customer service is also wonderful as their representatives are always very helpful, attentive, and eager to see your success with the product. I'd certainly recommend Orca to any organization looking to improve their security posture.
