The PcVue solution stands out for its ease of quickly and simply setting up a well-organized SCADA system. Thanks to an available modeling tool called Architect! - Easy to generate tons of data structures - Graphical object modeling - Reusable window modeling - Large number of communication protocols available
Just to mention the most important: Communications, reliability in data reception and system configuration, both the communications architecture and the graphical interface. Integration with almost any external system is also very important; it is a very open scada.
My favourite feature is the Arquitect, which allows me to create structures and replicate them, saving much time in the design phase. PC-Vue also generates a web interface to access remotely very quickly. The ability to connect any device through any protocol is very useful.
- Technical support is in the France time zone - Debug tool for SCADA Basic coding could be improved to speed up debugging. (I heard this is a work in progress :)) - The deployment tool could be improved to make updating applications easier and faster.
The reporting section could be improved internally, but since it can integrate with other providers, it's not critical for the system. The only native protocol I'm missing is IEC102 for tax meters; I hope we have it soon, sure.
As any software, we have had to face a few issues because a bad configuration, but PcVue logs allowed us to trace and solve the problems.
