The customization of CA Agile Central means that each person can set up personalized dashboards according to their role and the metrics they are interested in. Rally is a useful tool for Agile Portfolio, Project and Task Management. It provides almost all the required features to plan, groom, define, implement/ execute, measure and control the work efforts required for any agile project. Features like the dashboard, Iteration board, Kanban board, Task board, Reports, Timebox, Team Status, Feature board, Epic definition, Reports etc are useful and liked by one and all.

User-friendly, pre-defined templates, customisation

Organizing sprints, making user stories, linking stories, adding details, prioritization, easy to update, easy to use. It is good to easily share the links and user story numbers too.

As you create new sprints, you are able to easily carry over unfinished tasks or move them back to the product backlog. It is easy to use and new users were up and running with it from the time they get their accounts provisioned by our IT administrator

Exporting data to CSV files is very complicated, making it harder to analyse data

Cannot set up templates that are shared standards across the whole team for bug submission, story submission and acceptance criteria

The ticket title (user story title) on each of the tasks are getting appended automatically with system generated texts whenever I carry over the ticket from the current sprint to the next sprint, making the ticket name difficult to read as it gets lengthier as I carry it onto future sprints. The Rally UI may, at first, be less intuitive to new users who are not familiar with Agile methodologies and terms. Integration also requires a tech savvy team to execute on it. Less technically inclined users will find it difficult to tailor fit the tool to their needs. IT Management did talk about the cost structure as the team grew so organizations looking for such software should consider team growth and how it can impact overall software cost.

I find this application quite useful for tracking my software development agile activities. It helps to track hours of the current work as well as backlog. It is very descriptive about the users, owners and team. It is very useful to align the work with business deadlines.

we have implemented Rally in my previous organization to track down dev & testing team effort to quickly develop high-quality software for our organization. features like portfolio management, rally insights, iteration planning were in daily use for us. it can be customized as per project requirement. a small project can be managed by simple user story, whereas a large project requires frequent iteration. daily routine starts with scrum call and ended up updating the efforts in evening call.
