Salt Security is a provider of API security solutions. The company's API Protection Platform uses cloud-scale big data and ML/AI technologies to detect and block API attacks, offering security across all stages of the API lifecycle. Salt's platform offers real-time analysis and continuous insights for API discovery, attack prevention, and integrating security practices early in the development process. The unique API Context Engine (ACE) part of the system facilitates pre-production design analysis, API discovery, API attack mitigation, and remediation insights.

I like most about Salt Security is its deep, API-Centric approach and the level of visibility it provides. Salt gives us a clear, continuous view of the APIs in our environment. The platform not only flags posture gaps, but it also correlates behavior over time to identify true attack patterns.
Good api discovery and inventory mapping Strong detection of business logic abuse patterns clear attack narratives tied to specific api calls low false positive after initial learning period
A major advantage was the consulting services provided by the manufacturer throughout the implementation project and also in the follow-up after the project's completion. During all the time we had the support of product engineers and the sales team. This support made all the difference to the success of the project. The vendor provided us with information, guidance, tips, best practices and environmental review. Furthermore, they were collaborative and supportive during the few problems we faced with the tool. The product is quite adaptable and flexible.
On the downside, there is a noticeable learning curve, and tuning alerts to reduce noise takes some initial effort and coordination. However, once properly configured, Salt delivers strong value as a core component or our API Security strategy.
Limited inline enforcement options without integrations Reporting exports are inflexible UI performance is slow with large datasets
It took some time for the tool's intelligence to learn and adapt to our environment and applications. Several false-positive alerts were generated before reaching a point of maturity.
