Stronger logistics visibility supports product quality, but requires strict SAP alignment
My overall experience with SAP Business Network for Logistics has been shaped heavily by how it supports our need to control product movement in a manufacturing environment where traceability and quality status cannot be compromised. We run multiple sites continuously, and every pallet is tied to strict labeling, lot control, and inspection requirements. What made the platform valuable for us is how it complements our SAP core processes, especially when materials are in quality inspection status (QI hold) and should not move unless released. From a logistics visibility standpoint, it helped us stay aligned between warehouse operations and transportation execution, so we are not shipping material that is still under inspection or requires containment. The combination of visibility, reporting, and alerts made it easier to detect when something was moving in a way that didn’t align with our quality controls. For us, the success of the platform was not just about tracking shipments, but about protecting product integrity across sites and ensuring that what leaves the warehouse has already met inspection and release conditions.
