We are using SAP PI from last 10 years and we integrated with the Bank for payments and in these years SAP PI don't let us down as it works with ease and smooth.
Well, what we like most about our infrastructure is the high availability that we have now, some time ago we were not able to get scalability regarding resources without server shutdown.
SOAP Adapter: We use this technology for most of our APIs between PI and SAP ERP. Web Protocol: We use https and sftp: This technology is established for communication with our customers and vendors. Graphical Mapping Editor: Easy to use and very good for the mapping overview
1. The major issue we face is the missing of proper logs during channel saturation as only general logs are available instead of detailed logs. 2. It's very difficult for a new user (who has less knowledge) to trace or find the appropriate channel used for integration. As we've a lot of channels created on PI for different purposes. 3. As it is heavily integrated so sometimes it can be more complex and some functionalities can't be used.
what we dislike about the product is the service log, sometimes we have channels saturation with our AS400 and we can't find any helpful log just general ones.
Data Store: We had a few scenarious that we must implement in a more komplex way, because we were not able to store data in the PI Error Handling: It is complex to implement a structured error handling, f.e. to work with email alerts in different developer groups. Synchronous Messages: It is not possible to restart sync Massages.

SAP - PI/PO, Best Industrial Manufacturing Integration Tool
My initial experience was not so good because I was used to with IBM-ESB as in my previous organization, ESB was widely used, but over time, I realized that ESB PI/PO is easier than ESB, through SAP PI/PO we are able to manage and interact with everything from a single location, one of the most beneficial areas is monitoring which is very easy because it is all in one place. There are many adapters added recently that can be used for new functionality. The other important thing it's working other than SAP applications as well. - EDI & PO Manager1B-10B USDManufacturingReview Source
Powerful and Stable
I have been working with SAP PI for over 7 years now. It's a very powerful and robust system. Easy to understand and trace any step in a process flow by utilizing many options to configure objects that are also reusable across many interfaces. We are currently on an upgrade journey to PO and excited to see the new system. The SAP PI environment is fast, reliable, stable and secure. You will not go wrong if you decide it's for you. - Analist50M-1B USDIT ServicesReview Source
High availability is very important
we had several issues since our infrastructure did not have high availability, that was painful because sometimes we had channels saturation and it caused service down.
