SICK team was easy to work with and showed dedication to the project; RTLS system did not require a server in order to run; Software was web-based and easy to configure; Annual cost for service plan was competitive; Not as many anchors were needed to perform the job; Anchors were omni-positional rather than limited field of view; No annual tune-ups required; Had option for externally powered tags; Contents of service plan were good once there was additional clarification around the request; SICK Team was able to make custom logs for us.

SICK up-front hardware investment cost for implementation was the least cost-effective solution proposed; No experience with automotive applications for the RTLS system; Presentation of PoC results did not really show if the RTLS system was truly better than our current system, the data was inconclusive; Firmware had to be updated on al the asset tags during the PoC due to miscommunication from SICK's development team; Battery life of the asset tags not very long (1.5 years @ 1Hz; 2.5 months @ 8 Hz). If there was a reason that we were absolutely not able to use the externally powered asset tags, we would would have had to replace batteries a lot more often than what we do now with our current system.
