Solidatus is focused on providing solutions for managing complex data landscapes. It offers insights via dynamic discovery and visualization techniques, which serve to optimally govern data. The primary aim of Solidatus is to reveal underlying opportunities and potential threats while managing the impact of changes. By making the unknown known, it allows for an optimized infrastructure, heightened operational efficiency, and reduced risk.

The tool is very flexible all round and can be used for multiple different use cases and technologies, the team is easy to work with and overall responsive to queries raised. We are now seeing AI capabilities being built in, which will improve the user experience.
1) The service is the best tool I have used for data lineage. 2) It can be used as a highly flexible, generic mapping tool; if you can get your items of interest into an appropriate format, then you can map them. We have used this tool for data lineage, operational resistance mapping, data specification mapping, concept modelling and more. 3) You are not restricted to just the mapping live instances of data stores with this tool.
The strongest aspect of Solidatus is its ability to visually represent end-to-end data lineage in a clear and structured way. This is particularly valuable for regulatory use cases, impact analysis, and cross-domain discussions. Its flexibility in modelling different layers (business, logical, technical) and tracing relationships across them adds significant value to data governance and risk management activities.
Once mastered, the UI is easy to use, but for one-off or irregular non-technical users the UI needs to be more intuitive. This can act as a barrier, depending on the target audience in the organisation. Less of an issue where the expected usage is driven by technically/data literate users - however work is in flight through Data Maps functionality and/or connectivity via an MCP server. Accessing information from Solidatus is easier when using APIs rather than extracting reports, so do have some technical capability in house to get the most out of it.
It does not have native DQ tools.
Connectivity to new systems. In addition, Solidatus is not yet sufficiently embedded into the change management process.
