Good price and performance, that's what I was hoping for.
The most important feature to me is how when one cluster goes down, it will boot back up a fresh copy almost instantaneously. Outside of some catastrophic event, I feel confident hosting on this device. It has also been very easy to add in more storage, along with booting up VMs.
Superb value for money. There is flexibility in the hardware choices so to an extent you can choose your own hardware vendor and then Starwind will add their software on top and act as the OEM as a single point of contact. We opted for Dell hardware. In addition, the support is simply incredible. The Engineers really know their stuff, so there is no tier of support to deal with, total ownership and great communication allowing me as the end user to understand

The high cost of entry and reliance on Starwind solely for support feels like you are 100% buying into their system, and you have to give them that trust.
One feature that is missing that all of the other competitors in this space offer in de-duplication. While that feature is missing, you get an overall performance gain. So it depends on what you are looking for but I have no complaints and we specified additional storage as the system is flexible enough for that.

Smooth Transition to StarWind
I was looking to refresh hardware at our primary site which previously used a server and SAN setup, after some demos, we settled on StarWind. So far we've been really impressed, only minor issues and with our backup product's Instant Recovery moving the VMs over, the process has been smooth. The solution has been fast, reliable and the support from StarWind is top notch. Through doing the setup and the support we've dealt with the same person, something I've not seen at other providers. The HCA is easy to manage, removes some complexity from our setup and reduces the number of device firmware's we have to patch.
