High price and extra staffing needed for essential functions
Tibco looks amazing on paper but in the real world, does not live up to the marketing hype. One of the main issue is performance. The TIBCO data bus simply could not handle the throughput and message volumes. We had to implement a second, high performance data bus on the side to do the "heavy lifting". This is not a one-off experience for me, out of the two companies I have worked for that bought Tibco, one ended up doing a complete rollback, and the other one had to deploy a parallel solution.
