I came to my org, Assist several months after their merger/acquisition. At the time, they had just completed a mid-year implementation of one of their business units with roughly 10 to 12 employees from ADP to Workday. They had an agency temp running the payroll (sending e-mails to the managed support staff for processing). The temp had very little payroll experience so our managed services team had a pretty big lift with all the turnover in the company and another much larger, much more complicated implementation ahead. When meeting with the team that worked on the previous implementation, I was bombarded with horrible stories of how bad it went and how difficult TB was to work with. I was apprehensive when I attended the first kick-off meeting for our 1.1.2023 conversion/implementation, however, an hour or so into the meeting, I realized that the problem was internal to our company. I found our project manager and all of the implementers for the various product lines to be bright, knowledgeable, accommodating, helpful, friendly, patient, kind, funny, understanding...I could go on and on! With their guidance and willingness to go above and beyond the scope of the SOW, we were able to provide our employees their first WD paycheck on-time with 100% accuracy. Our hypercare was amazing...they went beyond the call of duty to fix issues that were not even related to the implementation itself. It was hard to say goodbye when the party was over! We had become a little family!

Largest driver of my opinion was inability to transfer a very common and large HRIS data out of UKG and into Workday. We were trying to move payroll from UKG to Workday and the amount of trouble to just extract historical data was astounding

Your customer service is amazing! It always amazes me as to how you were able to attract such talented and well-rounded employees.

Like

Team availability. I will say their team communicated back frequently and quickly. Some info I wish was shared earlier but as an expectation of timely responses, this team did at least reply back quickly.

One of the things we like most about TopBloc is their post deployment Help Desk support. It was exactly what we needed to bring our HRIS team up to speed and help to get us fully stabilized after go-live.

Dislike

The only weakness I found was on the G/L side of the house. We needed some restructuring on the G/L and reports written to assist us with reconciling the G/L so that it could be uploaded into NetSuite. We worked with someone and had a number of meetings but never really were able to make any progress. Again, this was partially because our finance team could not clearly articulate what they were struggling with and what they really needed.

Dislike

Inflexibility. Not only did they claim they had no means or resources to move historical data that we worked with UKG to extract, they wanted us as the clients to spend time to go through 30 GBs worth of historical data and format it so their system could accept it. On top of that, any other versions of reports often were not accepted by their team due to being in a format their system couldnt digest. They wanted us to do the conversion despite us paying them to help us with it.

Dislike

Not much to dislike, however we did find that there were a few newer Workday features and functionality that the TopBloc team was not yet familiar with. We also had some challenges with one of our critical workstreams, where the analyst worked in a very siloed way and did not realize some of the downstream impacts of their configuration and consultation would cause issues. However, in the end we caught the problem and were able to resolve quickly post go-live.
