turbotax Likes & Dislikes
Turbo tax is easy to install and update every year. I have never had a technical or filing issue.
Firstly, I like the guidance that Turbotax provides- this makes sure I don't miss anything important. Secondly, it checks my accuracy, which helps prevent errors. Thirdly, it imports my data directly from W2s, my 1099C etc. Lastly, it maximizes my deductions by finding tax credits and finds me more potential deductions; not many have been found, but it's a nice feature for those it helps.
The most likable feature of Turbotax is its user-friendly interface and free tax filing process for initial category tax fillers. Apart from being user-friendly and free, the accuracy and auditing were also spot on. It also offers premier additions for users who are more into investing and renting as well.
I dislike the fact there is a renewable purchase requirement every year.
Really my main issue is it crashes. Constantly. It's infuriating, to be quite honest. I've gotten all the way to the end and when I submit, it crashes. If this didn't happen, I would rate much higher. Also I feel like it's advertisement for free filing, then finding out you don't qualify for it, or for better features you need to pay more.
Although my experience with TurboTax was excellent, I learned from people's reviews about the confusion that once people start filing returns and entering their details they are redirected to a paid version of it. One issue that I faced was customer support. Customer service and support should be better and customers should not face this issue.
