The centralized visibility has made it easier for shared data assets to be more readily usable across teams and locations. Users can easily tell where data comes from, how it is defined and where else it is used in the data landscape without relying on tribal knowledge of an individual or multiple tools.
Clear visualization and automation features
First main aspect is data visibility and metadata management. Earlier identifying right dataset for analysis was very irritating and difficult as the meta data was scattered and we had very limited visibility at the client's place but now with the centralized data catalog it makes our life much easier with quick discovery of relevant data sets which are trusted. The second is data lineage which provides clear visibility and replaces the upstream and downstream dependencies which we used to manually check across teams earlier.
It was slow to build and configure, thus making it slow for users to trust and adopt. It took a hard decommission of other tools to truly gain usership.
The complex setup and implementation
Integration with non IBM Tools might require additional customization which might take time if not well versed with the product like Newbeez in IBM.
