Their website environments feature has improved our workflow because we can isolate minor updates to the staging environment or major upgrades to the development environment. When it comes to security and reliability, their automated plugin updates, constant virus scanning and stringent security protocols are outstanding. Having all of these features running in the background provides me with peace of mind when managing sites for risk-adverse corporate clients. When we do need support, their technicians are promptly available 24/7 via chat in the dashboard. In my experience, all the technicians have been very knowledgeable and have been able to fix any issues we ran into.

The pricing is somewhat on the high side compared to other managed WordPress hosting services. While the quality and features justify the cost, it might be a barrier for smaller businesses or clients with tight budgets. For higher tier usage plans, I feel that WPEngine should create more flexibility for building plans suited to your usage. One of the current issues we are running into is justifying the value of shared vs isolated resources for some clients. There is a big gap between these two plans, WPEngine should add the ability to build into isolated resource plans.
