Product(s): Qlik Sense
Overall Comment:"Qlik Sense is a tool that is used to create dashboards for analysis and reporting for users, using multiple sources. It is something a user with less technical knowledge about the tool can work on as well and as an expert you can create scripts at a very high level with a single tool. The level of complex scripts you can write on it with ease and speed is something that is very amazing. Some native charts are slightly outdated and plain, but with each update they are making sure the users get the latest tech.I have also used different types of BI tools in which they need additional tool just to do complex ETL which makes things more complex for users but with Qlik Sense we don't need to worry about that, we can create any level of complex ETL with it."
One of the most amazing things about Qlik Sense is its associative engine, we just need to feed our data into the system and it automatically associates fields between the data model, and this can make analysis very fast, Second is its QVD feature which is used to store raw data from the source directly into it and we can use this same QVD across multiple applications without disturbing our main source all the time, we can use it to store incremental data as well from the source daily and one of the main features of QVD is it can compress and optimize the data which can help it load faster as well, Third is its ETL capability to handle complex data from multiple sources, whether the data is in FTP, API or any old SAP version, we can consolidate it very easily. It can handle heavy data as well without slowing the system, For any level of deep analysis these things are very important and Qlik Sense does it amazingly.
One is visualization, some of the features of the chart are outdated, we can't modify some complex features as they are rigid even though they have been improving but they need to make some changes regarding this, Second is the learning curve for advanced users, they will need to write a lot of code compared to other BI tools, to apply some filters as well they would need to write some extra code, which is kind of frustrating and because of these things it has a steep learning curve, Third is costing, Qlik Sense is expensive for users compared to other BI tools which are mostly free for making dashboard, but for even creating a single dashboard they would need to pay, even though they have 30 days trial but after 30 days they can't do anything
