Product(s): UKG Ready
Overall Comment:"There's a lot of potential with UKG Ready and it's definitely a powerful tool compared to what we're used to (quite an immature HRIS environment) however poor project management and implementation has put us on the back foot, with now near-permanent limitations to implementation. In some ways UKG Ready is very flexible and malleable and in others it's very jagged and ugly and nonsensical. I'm both excited to continue rolling it out but also fearful of the users' perception of what's been built. UKG seems to be 90% there but where the systsem frop the ball on the other 10% it seems to cheapen the user experience and put a bad taste in your mouth as an admin. Integration teams rush and oversimplify discovery sessions resulting in blown out deadlines as they are slowly forced to "learn" what we as the client are happy to sign off on. Our UKG PM is happy to blow out deadlines by months on their end and describe this as "perfect," "great" and "making good progress," but as soon as we attempt to drill down into the discovery phase we are reminded of "additional fees.. Some things in the system are built and accessible but do not actually work, and when spitballing backend solutions with said features the response is often "it's there but it doesn't work", this gives an eerie feeling as you shouldn't have access to things that don't function reliably in a HRIS."
You can build workflows out of workflows which allows for very complex operations which sometimes are required within our business. The 100x Employee Custom Fields, combined with things like the Auto-Assign feature in checklists adds layers of compliance and reporting capabilities that we haven't had before.
A lot of the modules don't function well with other modules in the system. Additionally, functionality "exists" within the system but doesn't work or the integration team recommends steering clear due to unreliability. For example, both issues of the LMS having separate custom fields than the HR Core custom fields creates a double up in work for management of the system, a workaround could be to auto-assign a checklist with an LMS task within it (to meet compliance needs) - but this function is new and we were advised to steer clear of it for now.
