While there is certainly a learning curve associated with becoming accustomed to Premiere Pro's more advanced features, I am pleased with how they have allowed our association to craft more professional, polished video products for our member base. I also like that it involved a quick and easy request from our IT department to have the application downloaded to my Creative Cloud, as we often need to leverage tools to work against deadlines. I would also say that Adobe's customer support team has always been helpful when I've needed to reach out for support.
It is extremely powerful and edits videos with force, providing lots of automated features for enhancing videos with quality cuts, fades and other useful style choices. The extensive compatibility with other data types including music, picture in video and more, is extremely useful.
It's flexibility and speed. It allows me to move quickly from raw footage to finished content without limiting what I can create. The timeline is easy to manage, even on complex edits, and the integration into After Effects and Photoshop makes motion graphics and overlays straightforward.
There are periodic issues with crashes, freezes, or slow video preview processing. However, I recognize that this may be reflective of my computer's processing abilities rather than a product error on Adobe's part. I also think that the way the tabs and drop-downs are nested can be a bit complicated.
AI is rampant throughout this product and attempts to lay claim to the rights of your work when you use their software. So any content you put in is then freely available to AI for training data and therefore copying and reproducing your work without any further credit. This is wholly unnecessary for video editing software and is in there purely to enrich Adobe's dataset so that they can eventually supply an AI that will put video editors and other creators out of work as people can instead subscribe to adobe and generate anything they need. I cannot sit by and support this.
The main drawback with Adobe PP is how demanding it can be on system performance. Large projects, especially 4K footage, multiple layers and heavy effects can slow down timelines and exports. This can be frustrating at times.
