Camtasia Likes & Dislikes
The last major feature I love is the video proxy that makes editing so much faster. This improved the product a lot. I also love the publication options to publish to an HTML5 player so we can publish videos with chapters and subtitles to our LMS. I also like the library options to make editing consistent.
The interface is clean and well organized, with clear menus and readily available effects making the learning curve surprisingly gentle.
Incredibly easy to use, drag and drop, it's extremely intuitive.
Speech to text and automatic captioning features fall behind compared to some other tools. We dealt with that by importing the captions as .SRT files and checking the timing. This workaround does work for us.
No linux support, currently available for windows and macOS
I wish there was a wizard or how to section to help me learn the tool, however there is some really good content out there on youtube. It would be nice to be able to cut a section at a specific point and insert another clip.

Camtasia enables users with zero video/audio editing experience to create high quality and engaging video content.
Fantastic product. I have zero experience with editing video or audio, but Camtasia made it easy to cut and produce high quality content for webinars and canned demos. - PRODUCT MARKETING SPECIALIST<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
Camtasia Removes Steep Learning Curve Found in Advanced Video Editing Tools
We needed a tool that would allow us to create product explainer videos without relying on videographers or our internal designers. Camtasia is very easy to use even for someone who does not come from a design or videography background. Thanks to Camtasia we can create professional videos without having to learn advanced video editing tools. - Business Development Associate<50M USDSoftwareReview Source

Camtasia Enhances Instructional Video Creation
I have been using Camtasia for quite some time both from the education side to help create instructional videos for students and staff and now corporate L&D. Camtasia has been a staple of my learning development and instructional design tech stack. From creating professional looking screencasts to micro learning videos, to instructional trainings or recreations of in person training sessions. Camtasia has provided me a way to polish even the most basic of video recordings and embed them with engaging elements that make them more engaging for learners.
