The AI avatars look realistic and professional - perfect for explainer videos or internal training without spending on production. The text to speed voices are quite natural, and the ability to choose different accents and languages is great for various markets. The interface is simple to use, so even people with no experience can produce clean branded content fast. The video generation speed is also pretty decent, helping achieve a quick turnover time.
I love the engaging and interactive content that Synthesia creates. When you can get your vision to come to life using its technology, it is truly a game changer.
I love how natural feeling the avatars are, how smooth the editing process is, and how receptive to feedback the Synthesia team is. The avatars function better than other softwares and have a more natural sound and movement than other products.
Customization can feel limited - for example, the gestures and facial expressions of avatars are rigid and non editable. The background and scene design options could also be more dynamic. It would also be great if a small editing of a video after rendering didn't require a full re-generation, as it slows down quick updates.
The templates and AI features do not generate a good starting place for the content. Text is too small, transitions and videos are awkward and the virtual avatar can feel too robotic and cold sometimes.
There are limitations to what can be done, but they are actively being developed. Having branching and interactivity has been huge, it didn't exist when I started using the software but they added it! There are sometimes weird places to find settings that can be frustrating to try and figure out, but if you're patient and consistent it can be done. Sometimes the software doesn't say things correctly and it's frustrating to adjust the pronunciation.
