I particularly like the brand kit, because it has been a real time-saver when creating company-related training materials. I find it impressive that you can dress up your avatar with company clothing, such as hoodies and hats. Also, being able to select your company colors and logos with one click to be used in a template is a feature that every tool out there in the market should have.
It is easy to use and figure out how to generate different types of presentations. There are a number of options for templates,
We found Synthesia's avatars and voices to be the most natural and engaging. This allows us to create far more training videos in significantly less time and with less resources compared to the old process. Each video maintains a professional and reliable tone, increasing the quality of the learning resources. Its ability to allow us to select from a wide range of voices, accents and avatar looks, means we can tailor our content to our audience.
The one thing I would like to be improved, is that when you create your own avatar, you can't get rid of the background. I know Synthesia will get there at some point, but it would be nice if they let you know that the background is fixed before you record yourself. This way, you could at least try to use a neutral background instead of having to record again because you used a bad background.
All images and videos reflect only corporate settings (our company is a non-profit providing long term supports for individuals with I/DD). The generated videos from my power point don't reflect the core concepts intended to be taught for each slide
If I had to pick one area for improvement, it would be the built-in editing tools. To be clear, Synthesia isn't claiming to be a full end-to-end video solution, so this isn't a shortcoming as such, but the editing functionality is naturally more limited than what you'd find in dedicated multi-track video production software. Meaning that we still need to export the videos to another platform to finalise them. That being said, we expected this from the start, and prefer to have that extra control in post production, so it hasn't been a dislike for us.
