Performance of ArcGIS Across Market Features
ArcGIS Likes & Dislikes
There is an excellent user community and tons of educational initiatives provided by Esri, which makes using ArcGIS a great experience - it's easy to get advice, and there are always new webinars being added to help you use the product to its full potential. The variety of tools and data visualization options make it easy to create custom and informative maps of my data. It's easy to utilize open-access data as well through the online portal which allows you to add those data sets to your map with a couple of clicks.
What I like most about ArcGIS is the accuracy and reliability of its drone data processing. It consistently produces high quality 2D and 3D outputs which are essential in my professional use cases in estate management such as building construction inspections and modelling. Another standout is its seamless integration with the wider ArcGIS ecosystem, allowing users to easily combine drone-derived data with existing GIS layers, enabling better decision making across teams. Finally, the enterprise-grade security and scalability offered by ArcGIS is a huge plus.
1. The maps developed using ArcGIS can be integrated into other software applications through API. 2. This powerful spatial analysis tool simplifies complex tasks and provides detailed mapping. 3. Abundant, well-documented online documentation helps users complete any geospatial analysis.
There is a steep learning curve with using ArcGIS for some data analysis, so it is most valuable with some training and education. ArcGIS also requires a very large amount of storage space, so you will experience more slow downs or crashes on laptops with small disk space. Depending on which license you have, some features are unavailable without paying a higher cost, so it can be quite pricey depending on what types of analyses you need to do.
One of the biggest issues is stability. ArcGIS can occasionally crash, particularly when working with large datasets or complex drone projects, which disrupts workflows. The update and installation process is also frustrating in an enterprise environment. Updates require administrator privileges, making it cumbersome in large organisations where we depend on central IT teams for installations and updates. Another major drawback is poor integration with Microsoft OneDrive
1. ArcGIS is an expensive tool, so getting a license can become an issue. 2. The software is RAM intensive and takes some time to load and if the computer gets stuck, one has to restart it. 3. Learning how to use the software might take some time as the user navigates around its endless capabilities.

ArcGIS Excels in Drone Data Processing But Faces Stability and Update Issues
ArcGIS is a highly capable software for most geospatial and drone analytics functions. However, despite its strengths, the most notable drawback is system stability due to occasional crashing. Also, frequent updates that require system level access with administration privileges are cumbersome and time consuming in large organisations where IT controls are tightly managed. Another limitation is the lack of seamless integration with Microsoft OneDrive. - Operations Associate<50M USDMiscellaneousReview Source
ArcGIS Offers Extensive Tools and Data Visualization With Resourceful Learning Support
ArcGIS has provided me with all of the tools I need to do any kind of data analysis I can imagine. It's easy to get support when you have questions or challenges with your project. The only issue I've encounter is the slow down of my computer, but that is to be expected with a program of this size and large datasets. - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER10B+ USDManufacturingReview Source
