“A fragmented 90's era product plagued by poor leadership, low quality, and low investment”
We've invested in this organization for the past 12 years to create a strong working relationship and have failed to attain satisfactory levels of product development, customer support, and company roadmap. The company is plagued with poor leadership, shifting leadership (four different product managers for Avantis Pro in the past 4 years), low investment (even with the acquisition by Schneider Electric and the merger with Aveva, investment levels in the product are similar), and poor product direction. The only reason I see to go with the Avantis Pro EAM product is that it's one of the cheapest products in the industry. Don't be tempted by this low costs - the TCO is high.

Performance of Avantis PRO EAM Across Market Features
Avantis PRO EAM Likes & Dislikes
It's a bit of a swiss army knife that can be applied to any problem - it has this flexibility because it's so generic. For example, everything in the system can be defined as an object, a cabinet (datagrid/list of objects), and forms (detail views of objects). Because the system is so generic, we've been able to add features to it over time. It's also very inexpensive.
It's not moved forward in over twenty years. It's plagued by poor service, very basic features, and some of the most limiting technology I have in my product portfolio.
