I fully understand the way SAS operates so I can quickly debug code. The way it interacts with data might be slow but it will not run out of RAM on a PC. The documentation style has not changed much over the years, except that it is now available online. I also like the consistency between PC and cloud based versions.

I wish it was cheaper. The university almost went away from SAS due to the cost. It is not seen as relevant by the younger programmer or analyst that prefer R and Python. Since they go through a very traditional product development cycle, it is difficult to get new techniques quickly without creating custom code.
