- Deployment services and challenger functionality - Ease of running many models at once, if org doesn't have that type of compute power - Great product for beginners in data science
The classic UX is easy to navigate, the number of analytical data tools available help us determine the correct model to use to use predictive behavior, and the number of unique models available are very helpful in finding the right fit for our predictions.
- Learning Curve is high even with provided education - It's hard to tell what is included in my install and what isn't - I wish it had more warning for newer modelers so they don't assume the system is working
I don't like how the tool is pitched to users. The end-to-end project process in datarobot skips over many needs in the beginning process like EDA, outlier cleaning, etc. If these tools were built in (more than just a bar or line chart -- would be useful to see 3 features plotted together to see interactions) then we'd be onto something. Skipping this misleads the user, suggesting that just dumping a dataset in can yield great results, when in reality, this will give issues during scoring.
The annual contract is one of our most expensive vendor partnerships, but it is very predictable, which is great. I want greater flexibility in upgrade options, like the number of workers or production keys shouldn't be in bulk, but if I only need 1 more, I should be able to buy 1 more and not 3. Setting up API's isn't very intuitive and the documentation is confusing. There are a lot of DataRobot specific terms within it that if you aren't familiar with, can easily get you lost.

The overall experience of the product is great! The customer support for the application on the on-prem deployment could be better. But, as the latest versions are on cloud, I'm sure the customer support experience there would be better.
