Blackboard Learn

Blackboard Learn provides us a strong weapon to control and organize the online courses. From developing assignments and forums to sharing rich multimedia content, it provides an all encompassing platform to teach the students.

Students can send different file types through our assignment system while receiving clear instructions and feedback from Blackboard Learn. The combined functions with Zoom make it easier to manage online lessons.

The visual interface is clean, sensible, and consistent-- bugs are rare. Students don't need any training to learn it, and most faculty questions can be quickly answered. It is an essential tool for teaching classes. Integrates mostly well with our main database, and SaaS functionality is seamless.

Blackboard Learn can appear to have a lot going on and it is not always clear where something is located when first using the program as a student. Such a state somehow complicates the learning process because it creates confusion among the students.

Setting weighted grades takes a lot of effort and I have faced numerous times when assignments failed to synchronise properly with the gradebook that needed manual handling leading to student confusion.

Although the company keeps rolling out new improvements, some very important features are lacking, like having multiple rubrics for a single test or assignment. It's hard to know when new features will be rolled out and whether the new features will address your needs. There have also been occasional glitches in terms of syncing enrollment updates with our student information system.
