My greatest appreciation for Bubble.io stems from its significant advantages in time-to-market, cost-effectiveness, and accessibility. I find the platform's ease of use particularly valuable. The provision of multiple free accounts or applications for learning is excellent, offering ample opportunity to learn and explore outside live production environments. This enables rapid team ramp-up with an extremely low barrier to entry. The comprehensive tutorials and documentation provide a quick on-ramp for those with low technical skills, complemented by a straightforward interface with recognizable iconography and a tutorial style. Spinning up free applications allows new team members immediate, low-risk hands-on experience. Bubble provides substantial time and cost savings. It lets us put ideas out in the market rapidly at a low price point, functioning as a cost effective solution to build applications quickly on a robust tool set. This has resulted in lowering time to market by days or weeks on feature release and freeing up software engineering time for more complex tasks. Cost management was a key purchase driver, as the platform is cost effective and allows easy cost control via a variety of usage-based packages. The availability of cost effective contractor labor with Bubble experience makes it simple to scale our team. Its development features and reliability are highly valued. The built-in dev, test, and production environments and push-button deploy to production are very helpful and accelerate our development cycle. This architecture leads to a reduction in application bugs due to solid building blocks, minimizing custom code and logic errors. Built-in analytics help us understand application usage, informing customer experience and project costs. This supports enhanced decision-making from rapid feedback and fosters internal operational efficiencies. Lastly, Bubble is as flexible as they advertise, proving effective for rapidly building high-quality application experiences.
The product I amazing. I have the power to build my startup without the need of Developers. Me, a professional UX designer has the skills to create anything. Thanks SO AWESOME!
The code is easy to read, and Bubble.io clearly shows what needs to be done to fix any logical or syntax error. Previewing the functions built is very helpful.
While largely positive, my experience with Bubble.io has highlighted several areas for improvement or challenges. One primary concern relates to scalability limitations. Although the platform itself is highly scalable, actual scalability depends heavily on how well you use it. We faced issues with speed and performance as our applications scaled. These were not due to the platform directly but stemmed from implementation decisions made by early contractors. Our initial design, which aimed to preload and do as much pre-work as possible, did not scale effectively as our customer base grew, confirming our approach and use of the platform didnt scale. I believe theres a need for more advanced reporting and growth-oriented documentation. For organizations with traditional software engineering teams, Bubble could provide more advanced reporting capabilities and deeper technical reporting and performance insights to help users get ahead of scaling issues. Existing documentation is great for starting, Id prefer documentation and tutorials more targeted toward customers who expect to grow on the platform, as it was difficult to understand how we should manage the development of our Bubble application to scale during rapid growth. Another area is data security and compliance in highly regulated spaces. My company isnt subject to strict regulations, but I would hesitate to build applications in a highly regulated space on a tool like Bubble. The easy-start system provides a managed data system and a ready-made data API, but this convenience implies not very good separation and management of sensitive information, encryption, and things of that nature. Such use would require advanced Bubble expertise. Finally, the platforms ease of use can make it easy to build a poor product. My advice is not to become lax in project management and technical expectations. If re-implementing, I would be more selective with our developer expectations and manage the project better.
I need more education to truly take advantage of bubble. This is something your company should take control of. I don't want to be directed to a 3rd party source for help. It's the job of your company to education the community.
The costs related to usage are hard to understand, making it difficult to determine how they are incurred and how to simulate future use. The user interface design lacks intuitiveness - let's hope they'll improve on this.
