What I like most is that it's 100% integrated with the entire Microsoft platform, Dataverse, and also with the Azure infrastructure. You can connect, integrate, and work with data from these different platforms, which allows you to have all the data ready without needing to duplicate it. Another important point is that these developments don't require extensive development knowledge, and we've trained some users from other areas who don't have development experience, and they were able to create small, functional developments without much trouble.
It is easy to get started. It enables both IT and business users to quickly build useful solutions and see value quickly. Strong examples of what's possible, together with active community and partner support make it easy to learn, solve problems and scale
For one, it's a fully online, cloud-based tool that fits seamlessly into the broader Microsoft ecosystem (which our company is fully onboard with - I would assume the benefits are not as flagrant if other backbones are used). The strong integration with Microsoft 365, Dataverse, and other services makes it easy to build real solutions quickly. The what you see is what you get development experience lowers the barrier to entry while remaining powerful, and the platform's ongoing evolution clearly reflects the company's commitment to listening to user feedback and continuously improving the product.
While the tool is low-code and easily handles simple data collection and processing, when increased complexity is required, it needs to be integrated with other tools that demand more elaborate development. In these cases, the initial scope of the entire project needs to be better defined, determining whether it should be implemented with Power Apps or other more complex tools. The licensing is somewhat confusing at first; its user models and applicable connectors are unclear, leading to initial problems during service deployment.
UI & usability limitations especially with in the Model Driven approach and the Forms Have also experience performance challenges when building more complex organizations
Documentation does not always keep pace with the platform's rapid development. As you move into more advanced pro-developer scenarios, configuration can become more complex than the actual development work itself. This is especially noticeable for advanced setups such as setting up dedicated VNET configurations or maintaining and updating Custom Connectors when intending to have a deep integration with the Microsoft Azure setup we use across the board, making these scenarios harder than they need to be for experienced developers.
