1. Project/Task management - this is crucial to our firm's success. Canopy provides the ability to create templates so all tasks are set the same way, and subtasks can be pre-assigned so the team only has to mark their task complete, not worry about who to assign the next step to. 2. Automations within the tasks - this feature has changed our workflow. When a specific task hits a certain step or milestone, new tasks are automatically created to keep the process moving. This helps to prevent overlooking or missing important steps in our processes. We utilize this for billing, filing, and even sending emails to clients. 3. Time Tracking -- this couldn't be easier. You can manually enter your time or use a timer for every task. At the end of the day you can run a quick report to make sure all of your time is in and assigned to the correct task. This helps for team member reporting AND for client reporting to check the realization on each client.
1. Billing - this leaves a lot to be desired. I've used better billing softwares, but since it's all in one, we make due. 2. Missing features -- there are some features we've been wanting for a while that we've discussed multiple times with the Canopy team. These features would make everything much easier for us (and other firms), but they still haven't implemented them. (ex: we want to be able to auto-set a subtask to be assigned to the same person who was assigned to a different subtask in the same task this would save a lot of set up time.) 3. Weird flukes with no explanation - this shouldn't prevent anyone from getting Canopy, but we have had many times where our automations create duplicate tasks, so we have 2 tasks for every 1 we're trying to create. We've worked with Canopy support for hours on this issue and there is no explanation as to why it happens. It's not a big deal as we just delete the duplicate, but this shouldn't happen, especially with no rhyme or reason.
