We are a non-classroom, based charter school with almost 5000 students and Canvas has improved our remote learning environment and our ability to provide a digital personalized learning experience. There is some room for improvement, but overall it is an excellent LMS.

the infrastructure is not user friendly because it takes several steps to perform one action. For instance I’m unable to post one assigment to numerous classes without forfeiting their already earned grades. Also the program does not sync with TEAMS so attendance is a hassle. The new google assigmemts feature has a glitch and wont work for some students. On the upside it does offer lots of features such as a home page and chat

I like its user-friendly interface and features that make managing digital content easier. The ability to integrate digital curriculum through LTIs has improved the learning experience for our students.

Love the chat feature!

I greatly appreciate the top-notch level of 24/7 chat and phone support that Canvas offers through our plan tier. This alleviates a great amount of stress and anxiety when we do experience the occasional error. With that said, I also appreciate the high uptime on Canvas and their swift responses to any issues that arise. I also enjoy the powerful integrations that Canvas possesses for third-party applications. For example, we are able to use integrations such as Turnitin, Edpuzzle, Qualtrics, Simple Syllabus, etc. These integrations save teachers a great deal of time, especially when the grade is automatically passed back into their gradebooks. The modern and user-friendly interface is also something I really enjoy. I will shy away from products that do not look great and/or are difficult to navigate. The design of Canvas is both appealing and straightforward, which gives me and our teachers and students more confidence in the product and creates an overall more enjoyable learning experience.

First, the customer support could be better and faster. Resolving issues sometimes takes longer than we would like. The reporting features are a bit limited. We sometimes find it challenging to export the specific data we need. Integration with certain third-party systems isn't always seamless. Specifically, we often have challenges with integration with School Pathways, our Student Information System,

This program is not user friendly

I dislike the bland look of the Modules page. It would be nice to add more color/image options to each module. I also dislike how our account is charged by student who log in at least once. I wish that the pricing would be determined by amount of usage. It has improved lately, but I also do not like the discussion forum layout. Discussions would be better organized by indentation and threads, rather than replies that seem to be listed out.

Canvas LMS has been an invaluable tool for facilitating teaching and learning at our school. It provides a powerful, yet user-friendly interface for all users. Parents are easily able to track their student's progress and see first-hand what they are learning. Students can quickly access all their classes via their laptop or mobile device, allowing them to submit assignments with ease and see real-time feedback from their teachers. Teachers can quickly build out courses and curriculum with Modules and express their own unique style through course home pages and embedded media, giving students a personalized learning experience. Administrators, such as myself, are able to import data for mass course creation and enrollments, as well as analyze helpful reports of Canvas usage.

Hosted Canvas from Instructure is a best-in-class LMS because it combines ease of use with advanced functionality. Since it's easy to use, it allows all faculty to meet our minimum expectations, while also allowing the school to take advantage of more advanced features such as standards-based grading, and integration with our SIS. Hosting from Instructure has meant excellent service up-time, always up-to-date app, and at a reasonable price point.
