Excellent customer support response and surprising developer turnaround time
I appreciated the chance of a trial period for the driver to evaluate if CData could fulfill my ODBC connection to Zendesk. I was overwhelmed with the support provided to me during that period. I had expected that as a "trial user" (aka not a significant source of revenue), I would be relegated to "how-to" support from CData. Unfortunately, I discovered that data being served from Zendesk was missing crucial "Solve Date" data for cases that Zendesk resolved beyond their archival date. In the support ticket with CData, I had noted some relevant articles explaining this behavior and workarounds. I had already resigned to the fact that a vendor would put this into a long backlog of "enhancements." Still, their Support and Development team surprised me: They gave me a temporary workaround immediately and, within a couple weeks had issued me a test driver with a permanent fix. The support engineer explained every step and expectation to me, keeping me in the loop and knowledgeable about the status of my request. They were highly responsive to my feedback and quickly resolved other issues with the same unexpected turnaround speed. I was so impressed with their response that I decided to purchase the CData driver before resolving the case. I'm happy to report that I have a full working dataset now and the reassurance that my reporting needs are a top priority for their team.
