What I love most about Quantum is its all-in-one security depth with real-time logs, central management via smart console is a solid feature that allows control over the infrastructure with just two clicks, granular policy is also something really time saving and allows the admin to fine tune access without performance issues.

What frustrates me most about CheckPoint Quantum is its emailantispam handling. The builtin antispam engine is often overly aggressive, flagging legitimate newsletters and client communications as junk, which forces us to spend hours finetuning whitelist rules. Conversely, some not-so-sophisticated phishing emails still slip through, indicating inconsistent detection. The lack of a spam quarantine increases the lack of features.

Overall, CP NGFW with IPS/IDS has been highly reliable, stable, and effective for our env., but I deducted a point due to recurring IPS gaps on specific Oracle Weblogic signatures that our SIEM still detects daily. Limited Configuration Options and HA Issues Noted in Checkpoint 1550 Experience
As a network team lead, i have worked with 200 checkpoint 1550 with the smartconsole centralised management. It works well with the centralised management dashboard. It does the job. However, in terms of options, I find it a bit limited. Also, the HA technology for these small business appliances is very flaky. We get a lot of issues with the HA.
