The WAF is by far the best aspect of Cloudflare. With managed rules to protect against a wide array of attacks/CVEs and custom rules to manage a near infinite number of other things, it is one of my favorite tools as a security engineer.
The wide range of services are offered, including Cloudflare CDN, Cloudflare DDoS Protection, DNS, security features and more... Everything can be managed from a single online platform. Performs well under high traffic
Modern and user friendly interface, free plan with ddos protection and many other useful tools at no extra charge.
- Sometimes interactions with redirects and page rules can be a bit unclear and cause some issues - Cloudflare occasionally updates their UI, shifting and rearranging things. This sometimes causes some trouble in finding the menu for something you are used to using. - The cost of 'enterprise' domains can be a bit steep depending on your org size
Need some experience to understand all the features. There are many options !
Sometimes the configuration can be a bit clunky, wizards can be made clearer and fool proof. For example, there are 2 ways to redirect domains, bulk redirect and rules with 2 different interfaces each. This creates confusion.
