Cloudflare's network is incredibly large. This means it can easily stop large-scale DDoS attacks. The alerts Cloudflare generates are instant and descriptive. We receive emails when suspected attacks are in place, including which site specifically is being targeted. Cloudflare's support is also terrific. The engineers we worked with that helped us with implementation and answered our questions were very knowledgeable.

Choosing Cloudflare's DDoS protection essentially means you are locked into Cloudflare's ecosystem, especially when looking at other solutions to enhance your security posture. Cloudflare's services are susceptible to going down as well. Most recently, they had a global outage that affected some of our organization's sites. Lastly, setup and maintenance may be considered very technical. The appropriate admin in your organization needs to have a good understanding to make changes as needed.
