what i like most about the product is the level of visbility it provides across the networks. Darktrace delivers extremely detailed insights and presents them in a very visual and intuitivr way, makin it easier to understand what is happening in real time and make decisions. One of the standout features i appreciate is Darktrace's autonomous response capability (Antigena). It ability to take real-time, proportionate actions to contain suspicious activity - wihtout disrupting normal operations- is a major advantage and clearly differentiates the product from traditional monitoring tools.
Love the autonomous mode, knowing that automatic actions will take place against abnormal network traffic, meaning you don't have to immediately down tools to deal with an alert. I like the ai assistant to help breakdown the details in an alert and explain what's going on, and overall I appreciate the alerts to give me a deep understanding of what is happening in our network.
The best feature is Darktrace's ability to see our east to west traffic... that traffic that is internal to our network. Providing us with added visibility that our current SIEM can't provide. We are a fairly lean security team and the amount of FTE it takes to care and feed the product is super slim. The alerting provided by Darktrace interfaces with our current ticketing and current communication channels - makes it super easy to create alerts and be notified in real time.
what i dislike the most is that amount of information darktrace provides can sometime feel overwhelming, especially during the initial learning phase.
As mentioned previously I have a strong dislike of the UI, I find tuning models to be quite tricky and I also found that sometimes picking up device DNS can be inaccurate so you have to rely more on IP addresses than DNS names
Starting out there is a fair bit of noise, or false alarms. I understand that this is typically common and does take time to burn in. A huge piece of the Darktrace experience is the AI piece - that said, there is limited interfacing with tuning the AI to perform tasks I want. The last thing I dislike the most is the price - I mean, you get what you pay for, but it was a tough sell to the uppers to get buy in.

My overall experience with Darktrace/Network was very positive. When i tested it, i found it to be a very powerful solution that provides deep visibility and presents information in a highly visual and intuitive way. At time, the amount of data it offers can feel overwhelming, and it does require some time to learn your environment and fine-tune it detections. However, once it is adapted to the network’s behavior, it offers a significant leap in the ability to identify unusual activities. It is true that the price is not low, but i really believe the value it delivers can make it worthwhile, especially when extended to OT environments. During the POV, we discovered some interesting things thanks to the solution in the OT network of a client. Once set up and running in autonomous mode, Darktrace offers a comfort blanket to security engineers: you get good visibility of abnormal network traffic. I find the UI to be pretty tricky and not very user friendly. It seems like they prioritized a cool looking design interface over something that is user friendly to work with.
