My overall experience with this has been very good as it makes building and debugging applications much easier. The interface is intuitive and the built-in tools like Intellisense, debugging and refactoring significantly improve productivity. It performs well with large projects and supports a wide range of programming languages, which makes it suitable for different types of development work. The ability to customize the environment with extensions is another great advantage. However, it can feel quite heavy at times, particularly when opening large solutions or installing updates, and it requires a machine with decent performance to run smoothly.

My overall experience with IntelliJ Idea has been very positive, especially for backend development involving Java based applications and large enterprise codebases. I use it regularly for development, debugging, code reviews and maintaining Production level services. Its Intelligent code completion, deep code analysis, and advanced refactoring tools have significantly improved development speed and reduced manual errors. The debugging tools are one of its strongest points, especially when working with a multi layer backend services where tracing issues quickly is critical.
Read all insights and reviews for IntelliJ IDEAFor me it is a great tool for developing iOS and macOS apps. The seamless integration with Swift, SwiftUI previews and real device testing features make the development process much easier. There are occasional crashes and long build times, especially on complex projects, but the productivity benefits definitely outweigh the issues. Highly recommended for Apple developers. Additionally, the documentation, simulators and debugging capabilities are very helpful. The only downsides are that updates are large and the app can demand a lot of system resources. Overall, it's a solid and dependable IDE.

Great for vibe coding. I went from prototype to deployed in 20 hours (+ 12 hours for a senior developer to hard code, check quality and security). The fact that it is natively connected to Firebase makes the whole process easier and more intuitive for an amateur developer like me. Having unlimited Gemini credits to make any changes is a real plus. By connecting Firebase Studio to github one can get a real coding environment: development, staging, production. What I didn't like is that sometimes when an error is detected and the agent can't solve it, it gets into a loop trying to fix it over and over again. Also, sometimes even if you tell the agent not to implement or change anything beyond the specific command given, the agent is proactively destructive, it takes the initiative to change parts that were already approved. Finally, sometimes when building the console environment it gets stuck, and doesn't load; I was about to cry thinking all the work done will be lost, but the day after it worked again (why? no clue)
