I really like its sense of uniqueness: How it looks, how it feels, and the possibilities it opens up when I approach it from a new angle.
1) The Capture program for software simulations is what truly sets dominKnow apart from other authoring tools. Being able to record one simulation and having that single simulation have the option to become seven different things (video sim, try me/guided sim, practice/unguided sim, test/scored sim, text-and-image step-by-step guide, downloadable guide/job aid with full image (with highlight boxes to show where to interact), and a downloadable guide/job aid with cutout images of only the area that should be interacted with). It is unheard of and a true timesaver. 2) Everyone at dominKnow, from customer support and sales up through directors and C-Suite, have been both kind and helpful and an absolute joy to work with. 3) The advanced capabilities, from branching and variables to various views based on screen size, make dominKnow the best choice for smart and thorough mobile-friendly content.
speed of app and some steps are pretty bulky like quickly publishing 4-5 projects back to back.
What I find challenging at times is that some updates can unexpectedly change how certain features behave. dominKnow is good about fixing these, but it can still feel a bit stressful. Also, some features don't always work in the way you might intuitively expect.
1) Sometimes the server runs slowly. I understand that this is because there has been increased traffic, which is a good thing for their business, and I expect they will start increasing server capacity to keep up with demand. 2) As a small company with limited resources, they are sometimes slow with bug fixes. At one point, I had a verified bug take over two years to resolve. 3) Despite being relatively new, the Capture product looks and feels rather outdated.
