Duo balances strong security with a user-friendly design. The platform integrates smoothly with our existing systems, offers clear visibility into authentication activity, and provides flexible options for enforcing MFA policies. The support and documentation have also been excellent, which has made deployment and troubleshooting much easier.
it's mostly easy to support. easy to add apps to the SSO expreince. decent documentation
What i appreciate most about Duo is how reliably it delivers strong security without creating friction for our users. The platform strikes a rear balance, it enforce robust authentication and adaptive access controls while still keeping the login experience simple and consistent. The SSO capabilities has been major win for our teams, reducing the number of credentials they manage and improving overall productively. From an admin perspective, Duo is straightforward to configure, integrates cleanly with both modern and legacy applications and provides clear visibility into user and device posture.
Not much to hate. Just wish there was better accessibility for the Duo Windows Login when prompted with a number challenge. The number is small and users struggle to locate it promptly. It would also help if there were more customizations for the Windows login prompt (like adjusting size or color contrast for accessibility). Lastly, offline login handling could be smoother; users sometimes get confused when there's no clear indication of what to do without an internet connection. I also think it would be helpful to every so often prompt the user for a re-enrollment for offline (make it optional) so it might catch those who get new phones and miss re-enrollment for offline.
Unable to back up the client. They expect you to use google to back up the DUO client but google is often blocked due to DLP restrictions and even when it is not blocked, users still have problems backing up DUO. Moving from one phone to another phone is a HUGE horrible experience. losing access to websites and having to contact each vendor to gain access again can take days and even weeks.
The main challenge with Duo is that some of the more advanced policy configuration can feel a bit limited or require workarounds to achieve very specific access scenarios. while the core features are strong, there are times when deeper customization or more granular controls would make administration even smoother. Overall, these are relatively minor issue and once everything configured, Duo runs reliably. But more flexibility and Broader native integrations would make the experience even better.
