Our academic standards depend on ExamSoft technology to decrease cheating opportunities during tests. The lockdown browser enables me to trust that students remain focused on their learning materials.
ExamSoft was a hopeful remedy for remote proctoring during the conversion to online exams. Student activity was easily controlled and cheating was prevented which brought a level of comfort and academic honesty.
It ensures secure testing and offers robust reporting.
Students frequently struggle with the offline testing function. My classes suffered from delayed grading when offline exams produced syncing errors which needed a person to get student data.
Some exams sat for on ExamSoft became overly controlled when the lockdown feature of the system was adopted. Students did not have access to items such as books or handheld calculators allowed during the test.
The software is extremely time consuming qnd overly complicated to set up and administer an exam. There are so many steps making a huge administrative burden. Having users take the exam through Examplify app creates many complications as well with long update times and reboots when we are trying to administer an exam.
