We implemented CloudSEK with the objective of eliminating external threats and because of its brand monitoring capabilities such as detecting misuse of our trademarks or spreading false information regarding our institution.
As a bank it is crucial for us to identify fraudulent websites, links, or malicious apk files along with misleading social media posts that could use customer's data to cause them financial losses or damage the bank's reputation.
We are using three modules from XVigil
Deep and dark monitoring,
Brand Risk Monitoring and Data leak monitoring.
Over the past year, the platform has helped us detect multiple such cases where fake Facebook posts were made offering finance-related products & services pretending to be affiliated with us. CloudSek helped us in finding such posts where the alerts are on time and precise and the report enables us to make faster decision making by prioritizing
The support team has been very cooperative and quick to respond by assisting us with investigations, configuration and takedown process whenever needed.
It has also reduced our manual monitoring tasks and improved detection and visibility across external and overall digital channels
Overall, CloudSEK has improved our external threat handling by timely detection and reporting, saving us from reputational risks and helped us in protecting our customers from severe financial losses.
Not only that, it's also cost effective for us as well.
Some pros or we can say that advantages of this are
It's cost effective, does quick detections, It's integrated with multiple ways to detect fake data such as logos, apk files, keywords, trademarked names, VIP email ids etc.
For example, if I enter a keyword that is relevant to the company, it will go through various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or any other online platform where the name is used and it will report it to us and once we have verified that it's fake or misleading, we move to the next step which is taking it down.
It is completely Cloud based so it's easy to implement without any installation or setup and neither requires any user license specifically
Overall it's been really effective to use and helpful in solving major issues such as detecting fake and misleading advertisements, apk files etc which are a very common threat to banks and other financial institutions.
But there are some things that could be changed or improvised in the platform. The dashboard board is a bit complicated and is too cluttered so it could be simplified in terms of user interface.
Overall we are doing well in terms of digital security and our reputation has been maintained with the help of this platform and we have easily improvised the security of our customers and potential customers by taking down fake apks and posts so it has helped us in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and assurance with the customers.
Also one major issue is that when an incident is reported the CloudSEK team takes it down so it takes up to 2 3 days and in meantime the posts are visible which could lead to losses for viewers who fall for it so if they implemented temporary block till they confirm from their side in order to remove it, losses can be cut.
