We can see the possibilities and potential to really improve our business capabilities. We anticipate the ability to improve operational efficiencies, reduce speed to market, and increase production innovation through build out of our system. Product configuration is very good and several of our prior processes that we manual steps and calculations are automated features out of the box. The technical architecture opens up many possibilities compared to our current infrastructure.
The FAST team is easy to work with and their product is giving new capabilities to our company.
The FAST digital platform enables speed to market, easy configurations of products and functionality. FAST's approach to lean agile also enables insurance companies to embrace agile product development.
Deploying FAST is a significant investment of time and resources and as expected there is a learning curve. The ability to become self-sufficient is a goal, but will be a challenging goal in the short term. More resources (training, development approach) from FAST to help drive client self-sufficiency would reduce the timeline for customers to reach that goal. Additional standardization and automation are needed, although they are actively being developed by FAST.
We are not yet self sufficient. We have not learned how to manage configurations on our own. Moving to an Agile process is challenging when we have been Waterfall for decades.
FAST's microservices approach, along with the easy configuration creates a situation where insurance companies have to balance the concept of just because you can configure something in the system, doesn't mean you should.
